How can I join the choir?

We are a 'town and gown' choir with about 100 singers, including students. If you can 'hold a tune', you are most welcome to join us and enjoy the musical and social activities of the choir. It is not necessary to be able to sight read music, you do not have to audition, and we provide the scores.

Rehearsals are on Thursday evenings from 7pm to 9.15pm in the new Laidlaw Music Centre in St Andrews.

Subscriptions:

Non-Student Members:
Subscription fees are £100 for the year (or £55 for semester 1 and £45 for semester 2 respectively) for non-student members. If you only sing with the choir for semester 2 then the fees are £55 for semester 2 for non-student members.

Membership fees can be paid either by bank transfer, or by cheque, cash, or card machine on the night of the first rehearsal. Please contact us to find out more details about paying online, or hand in a cheque (payable to St Andrews Chorus) together with your registration form at the first rehearsal.

Membership fees include music hire and help to cover the costs of running the Chorus (including hiring professional soloists and orchestra, and paying for our conductor and accompanist). We also benefit from some singing tutoring.

If you are a new or existing non-student member, please click here to download a non-student registration form, and bring it along to our first rehearsal.

Student Members:
Membership is free for students, but they must be members of the University Music Centre. Membership for the 2023/24 academic year costs £70, and includes several benefits, such as discounted concert tickets and access to practice rooms. Details of how to purchase membership can be found here
